I suggest doing a Seattle Spring Trip in late April or May. March is still cool and the rain may dampen your plans. Read on to discover the best things to do in Seattle for Spring.

Miners Landing

Miner’s landing is an iconic Seattle spot you must experience! Eat, shop and enjoy unforgettable experiences. Stop for lunch at Ivar’s Seafood and enjoy a stunner view of the Puget Sound. If you want an amazing sky view, hop on the Great Wheel for some NW fun.

If you love to browse in unique shops, this is the place for you.! Supporting local businesses during the pandemic is especially important. If you want to spend the entire day at Miner’s Landing, be sure to tour the waterfront on an Argosy Cruise.

Pike Place Market

Pike Place Market is the most popular visitor attraction in the city. During a normal year when there is no pandemic going on over 10 million people visit the market each year, and 20-40k per day. Eat your way around the world in just a few hours! Many cultures are represented with the cuisine available at the Pike Market.

The market if full of specialty shops, produce stands and unique boutiques. Down below, is the coolest bookstore ever: Lion Heart . Shop til you drop and discover unique treasures to take home. I used to shop downtown Seattle often. Unfortunately the shopping has dwindled significantly due to protests destroying the downtown core.

Ride the Ferry

Washington State is home to the largest ferry fleet in North America. You can’t truly experience all the Northwest has to offer, until you ride one! Even after living in the area for years, I still have several routes to experience. All of the rides are quite scenic. The Kitsap Peninsula is a great idea for a day trip and ride on the ferry. There are 4 ferry routes that dock in Kitsap county.

Keep your camera and binoculars close, pods of killer whales and sea lions show up often to put on a show!

Visit Point Ruston, Tacoma

Point Ruston is a newer community located in North Tacoma on the waterfront. This area is the best kept secret in the West Sound. I can’t think of a better place in the Seattle area, to spend a stay-cation day! You can ride quad bikes, shop and eat your heart out.

Mt. Rainer is a also an iconic landmark in Washington State. I’ve viewed this stunner scene from several places, including the friendly skies. In my opinion, Point Ruston offers the best view of this natural wonder.

Stay Overnight in Bellevue

Bellevue is one of my favorite cities to visit in metro Seattle. Located on the eastside, it is an easy 20 minute drive across Lake Washington. The scenery enroute will take your breath away! There are many beautiful hotels, malls and activities to keep you busy. My favorite hotel is the W.

The W Hotel is also part of Lincoln Square, and provides a boutique style stay in the heart of the city. I’ve attended many fashion and networking events at the W. Once you check in, I promise you won’t want to leave! Relax and unwind here in luxurious comfort. In this hotel, experience a throwback to the rustic lake house of yesteryear. The decor and ambiance are bar none.

Enjoy Coffee on the Kitsap Peninsula

Of course in Seattle the choices for coffee shops are endless. Starbucks has one on every corner, and other coffee chains as well. I prefer a mom and pop shop for coffee. They usually have the tastiest coffee and offer specialty menu items.

The Poulsbohemian is one such coffee house. It’s located on the Kitsap Peninsula in the town of Poulsbo. This charming java stop is a 15 minute drive from the Kingston Ferry, or find it by heading west from Tacoma on Hwy 16.

This is my favorite Northwest coffee shop. I call it an ” Office with a view.” You can relax, and enjoy the breathtaking views of Liberty Bay.
